TIL the Canadian territory of Nunavut is almost 3.5x the size of Ukraine and has 875.87 times fewer people

This is significant because Ukraine is the second-largest country in Europe (after Russia). And Nunavut is only 1 of the 13 provinces and territories in Canada. So this goes to show you just how massive Canada is

Canada is like Australia: tons of land but all of its population is concentrated along some type of border. Canada's is with the Yanks, Australia's with the rip and dip.

Yeah the Windsor to Quebec City corridor alone is home to about half of Canada’s population. It’s only 1,150 km long.

Probably even less people in the water than in Nunavut

You’d be surprised

None of what?

But how many football fields is that?

At least more than 6

Come with me. I've got a banana and when I put it next to the terroritory, you'll immediately get a sense of the true size.

Beautiful

875.87 times smaller

What is this even supposed to mean? Whenever I hear comparisons of numbers like this, I just cringe. Wouldn't 1 times smaller be zero? (n - (1 x n) = 0). What is 875.87 times smaller? Undoubtedly, they mean to express that the population is one 875.87th the size, so why not say that? Something isn't, as another example, 3 times cheaper; it's one third the price.
