Also sometimes the market demands things that people don't even actually desire -- often because of speculators wrongly assuming people will desire it.

Clearly seen with data centers and AI right now. As seen previously with the dotcom bubble. Seems to typically happen with the newest technology at the time, except for things like tulips and beanie babies a couple times.
