Day 657 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing

Today’s game is Unturned. I saw the game got a new curated map and I had to try it, so I booted up the server again for me and my friend and we tried again some more. I fixed a lot of the server configs so it was a little easier (spawned with GPS, and a pocket knife namely).

The new California Map is really pretty. I spent some time there and it honestly felt really familiar, which is impressive for being a scaled down version of the real world location.

Me and my friend went raiding in Monterey for supplies. We found this zombie with a pool floaty on which I thought was funny. There was another one with dreads too which was cool to see. It gave them a little more depth than just “green guys in random clothes”

I accidentally killed my friend by hitting him with a bat, and he had to come get his stuff again.

He accidentally killed me though back (shot me in the head with a shotgun because he didn’t have the safety on) so really we got even. I like that detail of the game. Having a safety on fire arms really makes the multiplayer aspect feel a lot more “realistic”.

When I respawned it was near San Francisco, so I went and looted the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a big challenge, so I just waltzed in, stole some supplies from the military zone, and waltzed out.

I think there overall it’s an interesting map, I definitely want to try more. I’ll definitely have my friend on for it though, as it’s definitely better with friends

I have lots of good memories playin Unturned. At one point my friendship group split into two teams and were let loose on Washington. We had a two day grace period before war began. My team based on the very edge of the map, over the crest of a mountain behind Paradise Point Millitary base. This meant that we had a near unlimited supply of the best weapons in the game and that even after they conceeded defeat, they couldn't find our base.

I've been playing solo again recently, with the release of California 2. Doesn't hit quite the same but that group of people is long gone now 🥲

I remember playing this game ~10(?) years ago, it's really surprising that it's still getting updated. One of the better survival games despite being free.

Oh yeah the new california map is amazing, but some of the quest designs have me scratching my head at times.

We played it on a private server. Our stack managed to get all people out of the server because we were dominating.
