So she's basically at a level of reddit fame where anything she posts will reach the front page within an hour and stay at top/all for the whole week. you're right, it's solid 7/10 but on reddit a 7/10 comic depicting a woman by a woman is basically a hatecrime warranting a very strong emotional response.

which wouldn't matter but the part of her audience she engages with (replies to comments, makes meta comics in response to) are specifically the people who hate her. this is the correct move though, because the engagement of haters further accelerates her reach and therefore her patreon income. she's gaming the bad interaction feedback loop and winning. the subreddit r/bonehurtingjuice essentially was converted into her biggest hater community and posts the most parody or snark content about her over any other community.

she's not the only artist who made an okay bank doing this, but she kind of did it the best on reddit. also she's created a sort of meta community where she helps other artists follow the same process.
