Nintendo Suing U.S. Government Over Tariffs

5h 18m ago by retrolemmy.com/u/kip5608 in games from aftermath.site

Nintendo filed a lawsuit in the United States Court of International Trade

More than 1000 companies also have sued the US government

I think it‘s past 2000 at this point and growing. This is huge.

Ugh... i cant believe im rooting for nintendo

If you told me several year ago that I'd be cheering for Nintendo in a lawsuit....

Nintendo -
Use our IP to advertise fascism: I sleep
Fuck with our profits: I WAKE

Someone used Nintendo IP to advertise fascism?

DHS used Pokemon to advertise ICE. Gotta catch 'em all.

Jesus Christ. Thank you for the context, I completely missed rhat

Companies suing the government for taxes that they just pass on to consumers is both the bread and the circuses of the modern age.

bread and circuses were free. unfortunately this is even worse.

I think that Nintendo did not pass on the tariff to consumers in this situation meaning that they have literal monetary damages. At least, that’s the rumor.

Evil vs. Evil.

Whoever wins... we lose.

Fascists executing people on the street = evil

Company that sells stuff that never goes on sale = evil

Hey now, with Nintendo I at least get fun games and they don't bomb me.

Just don't pirate their shit to avoid provoking them. They take that so seriously they might consider it.

Heh.... It will be a very very long time before any of these companies see a thin dime of that tariff money back...if ever.

No no. They will give the money back to the corps. The people who spent that money won’t see it.

The point might be injunctions and judicial record, they might know they're not getting their money back.
