Iran calls for ‘Trump’s blood,’ warning US will ‘bitterly regret’ sinking warship
1d 8h ago by lemmy.ca/u/RandAlThor in world from thehill.comYou can fucking have him... If he's got any blood left in him and it's not all just McDonald's brand cholesterol™, you're welcome to it.
Unfortunately, they will absolutely take the blood of kids from low income families who got duped by sociopathic high school recruiters in his stead.
Sadly, I had quite a few friends fall for it when Dubya did this. Surely we'll take care of them when they come back this time...
Narrator: We will not take care of them when they come back this time.
Just sayin, were already gonna have to rebuild part of the White House...
I wouldn't see any need to rebuild mar lago tho
what if we rebuilt maralago as a skate park and public restroom. so people could ollie and shit on his grave
Transitional housing for abused women and children would be the ultimate slap in the face.
Transitional housing for abused women and children
i'd agree with you, but a very important feature of those is that we don't tell anyone but the people who need its services where it is. like, i was ran some homeless shelters. two of them were for abused women and children. I still haven't got a clue where they are. only people in the organization who knew were people who needed to know and i was not one of them.
That would be pretty sicknasty, I'd learn to skateboard so I could go there
skate parks are pretty welcoming. you could learn there!
They can take the cholesterol too. And also the shitty orange dollar store packaging around it.
no we want to keep the cholesterol. biodiesel is valuable.
At this point they can destroy all of western culture it's all the same evil bullshit owned by psychopaths.
Conflicted on who I’m supporting here.
You don't have to support anyone.
If you don't pick a team you're not in the game!
The only winning move is not to play
The safety of civilians in the region. You don't have to pick a side. We can simultaneously acknowledge that the Iranian and the US regimes are fucked up.
Yeah I want both governments to fall and both countries' people to thrive and forge a better future
Solid choice.
Then the sinking of a battleship seems like a pretty safe strike. Roughly zero chance of collateral damage.
why? all nations are evil. that’s a given. trump’s run to be another hitler has involved partnership with genocide and kidnapping and invasion of multiple nations.
he’s clearly the bigger evil here.
iran is a piece of shit but they’re not a worldwide imperialist terrorist organization actively invading other nations.
well you can simply vote out trump at your next election if you wish
you can’t vote out a dictatorship
the dictatorship is capitalism here in the US. it also can’t be voted out.
lol... all the best countries in the world have capitalism
Not all countries have the power our oligarchs have. They're trying everywhere, but they have succeeded in the US.
This is just blame shifting, you could have voted for Kamala, you voted for Trump, this is not anyone elses fault, nor is it capitalisms which functions perfectly well in hundreds of countries
And you could kick out Rupert Murdock, but you personally haven't, so I guess that's your fault.
sure, I guess I better start blaming capitalism for all my woes now
I was not the one who passed Citizens United.
I was not the one who set up Fox News and right-wing radio as propaganda outlets.
I was not the one who chose to make the Republicans work with Evangelicals to push wedge issues.
I was not the one who bought up all the media outlets to push Republican propaganda.
But sure, put all the blame on me when I've done my part to vote, try and convince others to vote, protested some when I could which hasn't been all that much. I even have a wikipedia page because of something I did in 2009 to try and help.
But keep on blaming me and not the fascists and not the oligarchs who actually orchestrated this thing if it makes you feel better about yourself.
Are you happy with yourself now for blaming me? Do you feel better?
It could've been. But dumbfucks threw a tantrum over Harris.
This is on their heads. Never let it be forgotten.
While Harris would have been an objectively better president than trump, I don’t think voting for her would have voted out capitalism…
don’t forget: the ppl who voted 3rd party.
even if they voted for harris she still would have lost. she did a piss poor job at her campaign. if the primary actually picked her instead of joe dropping she’d likely have done much better.
I kind of doubt that will be true. Don't you think if our system actually worked trump would have been some how taken from presidency? Or at least something would be happening. Like anything real...
Then you need 2 things:
-
People to stand up and run as a politician against people like Trump and commit to putting him in jail
-
Have people vote for said person
As opposed to in Iran where you only have 1 option
- Like it or die
There is nothing stopping America from being similar to NZ/Canada/France/Sweden or insert whatever idealist state you look up to with universal healthcare, gun control etc, you just need people to vote for it
Left Wing Americans are constantly saying that capitalism is the problem because they seem unable or unwilling to talk to their neighbours
The problem isn't the system. The system exists only to help the people maintain the upper hand. It's the people themselves. Trump is only a symptom of a problem with the people. In fact, even if he drops dead tomorrow, you'll find a queue of a couple of dozen even worse psychopaths waiting to take his place.
It's hard to see the problem when you're part of the US society. But it's evident from the outside. An average of more than one school shooting happens in the US per day. This isn't even a news these days. But it's unheard of and unbelievable in other nations. If anything similar happens, it would be news and discussion for a year. You don't go to churches or malls or railway stations (there is such a thing) worrying if you'll die of gunshots.
Political assassinations are a big deal elsewhere - even of a political opponent. You should have seen the US republicans celebrating the murder of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. So the left must be good, right? Of course, they were celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The sudden disappearance of a human life is something most people can't stomach. Yet, people were celebrating the gory videos!
Similar attitude with armies. There are no just wars. Wars always cause unjust and unimaginable suffering. Wars must be avoided. Of course that's not an option sometimes. Then your aim must be to attain the objective as fast as possible and restore peace. But all wars are holy wars for Americans. They don't even tolerate it when I suggest that even their military may be committing war crimes (that's charitable, considering what's reported). To them, their military is the righteous force that can do no evil!
This is part of a pattern of excess pride, often called the 'American exceptionalism'. Americans also give little value to perspectives of people in other countries. Many behave as if the US is the entire world! Problems like the Trump-Epstein regime will continue to repeat until Americans start to introspect and self-criticize. It will happen until a big section of Americans open up their mind to the perspectives of others.
Iran loves to issue empty threats.
They've been crippled. Their ability to project artillery outside their borders is receding with every passing day. As soon as the US/Israel offer them a seat at the bargaining table, they'll come rushing back just like they have every other time the US/Israel has pushed their shit in.
If you love getting rug-pulled, go ahead and root for Iran.
If you want to cheer for the team with the kind of blood-lust necessary to obliterate a civilization, you'd be better off cheering for the US and Israel.
The war just started. How do you even know what tricks they have up their sleeves? You think dropping big explosives from the air is the only form of warfare? How did that work out for you in Vietnam? This is the same hubris Putin demonstrated. Don't jump the gun.
You think dropping big explosives from the air is the only form of warfare? How did that work out for you in Vietnam?
Killed a whole lot of people
Yeah. Killing little school girls is all you can claim as an achievement! After all, little school girls are the field of expertise of your supreme commander, aren't they?
We killed a whole lot of school girls in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq as well. Didn't get the same kind of coverage, because the executive branch (and the public) were more disciplined in messaging.
But I think a lot of warfare is, at the end of the day, a libidinal need to "mow the grass" as the genocidal IDF leadership put it. Kill your enemies. Kill their families. Kill their kids. Depopulate territory of opposition.
Do I think dropping big explosives from the air works toward that end? Absolutely.
I never thought of the US as a benevolent invasion force. I knew they massacred ordinary people. And clearly, you're part of the problem here.
But I'm not talking about that. Despite all the bombs you drop, you fail to achieve anything in the end. Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq. Is there one invasion you can say you're proud of? Perhaps psychopaths like you can, based entirely on the blood shed. But for human beings, you just keep sacrificing soldiers till you withdraw with your tail tucked behind you. You create powerful enemies who go on to cause even more damage to you. It's your shortsightedness and simplistic thinking that defeats you in the end.
Meanwhile, your equating human lives to grass, is just lack of humanity. I just pity you. But don't believe for a second that you're immune to it. One day it will be someone else doing it to you.
But I’m not talking about that.
You and the rest of the US national media.
Despite all the bombs you drop, you fail to achieve anything in the end.
Tell it to Raytheon stockholders. Hell, tell it to Facebook stockholders.
More importantly, tell it to every single Palestinian rendered homeless by the Nakba and the subsequent seventy years of genocidal policy. Israel exists in its current state because they slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and took their homes, their farms, and cut off their access to Arab neighbors.
Meanwhile, your equating human lives to grass
Mowing the grass (Hebrew: כיסוח דשא) is a metaphor used to describe periodic Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip to manage the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The term was coined by Efraim Inbar and Eitan Shamir, two columnists for The Jerusalem Post and strategic studies researchers.
Naftali Bennett referred to the idea in a speech in 2018 when he said "מי שלא מכסח את הדשא, הדשא מכסח אותו" ('He who does not mow the grass, the grass mows him')
Hey Iran!
Don't forget about the rest of his family and all the sycophants that prop him up.

UPDATE: (no trade for us, I guess)

Worth a shot at least. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, after all. Nice try!
This sinking seems like a really big deal to me, but I don't feel like it's been treated that way. Everyone seems to react like it's just another example of Trump being shitty, and it is, but also, we sank another country's warship with a torpedo. That seems pretty momentous no matter what country it was.
And it was unarmed, coming back from an exercise that was essentially a parade. Bonus points of shit!
Apparently the US had pulled out of that exercise at the last minute. So it's the dickest of dick moves.
Well, I mean, it would have been a little more dickish if we hadn't pulled out and still sank them after… but yeah.
I just learned that five minutes ago, and it really does make it even worse.
This is only the second warship sunk by a nuke sub (HMS Conqueror) and the first warship the US has sunk with a sub since 1945. We won't talk about the Russian cargo ship that "exploded" in 2024.
In the frame of war, this is big. In the frame of history this is huge. The lack of coverage and the apathy to it is ridiculous. This has never happened in our lifetime, well unless you are 80, so we have that going for us...at least its new lol.
It's the first fully unarmed warship sunk though, so that makes it unique. Also extra unique is that the nation and crew were basically invited first to the parade in part by the USA. So basically it's one for the history books in that is a modern red wedding.
Different from smashing their airfields with missiles? Or, is it different because of where it happened?
It feels different in a few ways to me. One, it feels much more personal and "fuck you in particular." It's one thing to lob missiles at a base and fuck whoever happens to be there, but you KNOW there's a real possibility that you kill every mother effer on that ship if you hit it with a torpedo.
I'm not articulating it very well, but it's just got a different sort of cruelty that something like shelling an airbase just lacks for me.
I guess I can sort-of see where you're coming from. Presumably when they're bombing an airbase they're trying to hit planes, destroy runways, etc. If you're in the break room at the time there's a decent chance you don't die. If you're working on a plane, you're probably dead. But, when you sink a ship, everyone goes into the water and there's a good chance they'll die.
To me, the fact that it happened nowhere near Iran is the bigger deal. It means that parts of the world that aren't aligned with either side in the war now have to wonder what might explode in their own territory.
OTOH, at least when you sink a military ship there won't be civilian casualties. If the US had actually declared war on Iran, which of course never happened, but if... then another warship is actually a valid target. This isn't like blowing up an apartment building because a guy on your kill list is in one of the apartments.
Good points, especially this one:
To me, the fact that it happened nowhere near Iran is the bigger deal. It means that parts of the world that aren’t aligned with either side in the war now have to wonder what might explode in their own territory.
I skipped right over that but it's part of it for sure.
Haha Trump launching tor-pedos
We will absolutely not regret sinking it if you do that. How many warships will it take to do the whole line of succession?
Seriously. What do we need to do to get you to follow through on that? Is there a go fund me?
It would be nice to see, but I still wouldn't have paid 130 human beings just to get another nation do something that should be done by an American. We can't let these foreigners take our jobs or something.
They can have him, and all of his appointees, and the billionaires as well. We won't miss them.
We double dog dare you.
Killing the US president out of retaliation for an illegal war would make us ... unhappy ... or something. Maybe ... I dunno.
If you do that, we may have to bomb you in retaliation. Maybe even kill your leaders.
Ironically, so does his medical team. Based on the bruising, wouldn't surprise me if they're having to draw blood constantly for all the testing required to keep his corpse functional.
Join the club guys.
Don’t threaten me with a good time.
Be my guest.
We cannot forget that the administration is actively trying to architect a tragedy against Americans. It is high treason.

Oh no. Anything but that. Don't do anything to our beloved Trump...

Oh no please stop don’t
How much Trump blood they want? We can probably get like 30 L easy, if they accept in laws.

I would never have thought the day of me agreeing on anything with those cleric lunatics will come, but here it is. We all want to see trumps blood.
I doubt that he has any left. Why else would he be so blood thirsty?
You know where he lives.
I hope they take it on the republican government personally. No point in fighting with an over-funded military lead by a christo-fascist, when you can take it out on retirement age old white folk who had the power to stop the war and decided to lick a pedophiles boots instead.
That orangeheaded bastard always ignores. How about he sees a repeat of this?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983_US_embassy_bombing_in_Beirut
Just take him to Iran and tell him it's for a blood test. Let the Iranians worry about collecting the sample.
Tell him it's a test they don't think he can pass. Tell him Obama passed easily.
The people wanted it, they are dancing in the streets. They are happy the pedo was removed.
iran has been calling for things and threatening things for a while now
now does seem like a good opportunity to make good on those threats however it’s starting to appear like iran is the paper tiger we thought all along
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_and_state-sponsored_terrorism
They have "made good" on these threats several times. Biggest reason why you don't see them all the time is because the intelligence services of various countries are doing their job.
