What you so afraid of bud?

4d 16h ago by lemmy.ca/u/n7gifmdn in politicalmemes@lemmy.ca from image.nostr.build

This chart is kinda annoying to read, so here:

Oh that's better

You're amazing, my autism approves!

Look closer, and your autism will rage about the editing.

I tried my best 😭 i made the edits on my phone

Which app lets you cut and paste?

The built in photo editor on Samsung

Basically i turned each of the presidents into a sticker, colored out what was there, and then put the sticker back in the correct column

Thats why its a little haphazard, i had to color everything out and position/resize the icons manually

I never thought about using other features like stickers like that. Thanks for sharing your technique!

🫡🫡 no problem, hope it helps!

Thanks, you just ruined it.

Doing the lord's work

Better, but it’s complicated because of the non consecutive terms.

Is it, though? 8 years is 8 years.

I might say it's complicated because all the other presidents finished their presidencies. Trump has three more years, In theory.

it's not like he can un-bomb the countries

Miller whispers in Trumps ear: an atomic bomb wound remove any evidence of our bombs there, so we should drop them

Raw data is always neutral, but the presentation of data never is. Presented data tends to tell a story. The eedesigned image shows information about the same reality, but the new presentation shifts the you focus on another thing. It only gets complicated when you want to decide what the graph is about.

They said Trump was playing 4D chess when it reality it was connect four.

Really he's eating the chess pieces.

He's eating the pawns, he's eating the rooks, of the people that live there

He's playing pigeon chess.

With people's lives

"He'll run it like his businesses."

"He'll be the president of peace."

tbf, Trump is running the US like his businesses

Ones he's trying to bankrupt and liquidate into his pockets.

My point exactly

You got us there.

“He’ll run it like his businesses.”

Boeing and Raytheon are businesses.

“He’ll be the president of peace.”

Peace of Shit

Yeah, he is. Have you seen his businessess?

I am convinced that every single one of his businesses were giant money laundering schemes.

Russian organized crime going back decades, check propublica's podcast of president's name inc, I never type his name on social media sorry. From his first term, when we all still had more faith in the system.

MFW when GWB has the smallest country count.

I think if he had not started those wars the following presidents would've exercised far more caution in authorizing strikes. Also, a lot of bad laws were passed during his presidency that allowed the executive to hold more power

I definitely feel like GWB changed the narrative, but Clinton and GHWB both bombed Iraq, Clinton did attacks in Afghanistan & Sudan, plus the whole Bosnia and Yugoslavia things.

GWB walked so Trump could run

*so Obama could jog and Trump could run

To be fair, they were doozies...

Why do you think we called him O"bomb"a?

I hate how Bush is being compared as the better president

An argument could’ve been made that Trump was worse domestically because ICE but Bush was worse internationally because Iraq/Afghanistan. I don’t think that argument will hold any water by the time Trump is no longer president.

My fear is that the Iran situation will turn into a forever war like Afghanistan, and then in the end the terrorists will just claim the power either way

Seems pretty likely

*is dead

I phrased it vaguely on purpose as in theory he still could be removed from office but functionally you're upsettingly correct

I shudder to think how today's trump would have responded to 911

Go look at what he said about his own building in the immediate aftermath, that’s probably close

A very sad state of affairs

This war might seal it.

Better than Trump? Bush was absolutely and in every way a better president than Trump.

"Better than Trump" is the lowest possible bar one could pass.

Agreed. Bush soars over it.

First there's the base level of competence. He wasn't actively making everyone worse, every day.

I'm not disregarding all the terrible things he did, but he also did a non-zero number of good things.

Between him and Trump, it's not close.

First there’s the base level of competence. He wasn’t actively making everyone worse, every day.

Yes he absolutely was.

Bush invaded Iraq without a contingency plan. Threw away any credibility the US had as a serious country. Handed it over to Iran-linked militias, saw the Sunni side create IS in the north... Drew away resources from Afhganistan because he needed to distract the voters in 2003.

Sure Trump is a total clown but in comparison he's done far less damage

Bush also created PEPFAR and saved more than 20 million lives in Africa.

Trump dismantled PEPFAR, and that alone will cost something like 15 times more lives than Bush's unjust wars.

Bush was not a good president, but saying he's worse than Trump is just ridiculous.

Fuck all of this but it feels like a bad metric. The number of countries vs the size of the attacks might be relevant. Once again I don't support any of it but one strike on a bunker is a lot different than an entire war.

Or the nature of the attacks. Why should I care about "Obama attacked Pakistan" if the "attack" was killing Bin Laden?

Well you should care

Just not about this 'meme'

Why are Bush and Obama not on the Iran list?

Also, Bush in Venezuela.

I'm sure there are others they missed.

And the centrist voters say there's no blood on their hands

Tbf there isn't really a way to avoid having blood on your hands as an American without going to jail. Simply abstaining from election doesn't stop the violence, nor does it isolate you from the societal benefits of imperialism.

If you pay taxes to a country making war, you are by default funding that war. The great illusion of our bicameral Congress is choice, when in reality our government has always been beholden to the senatorial class.

Generally your options are to engage in harm reduction by voting for the lesser of two evils, or to engage in civil disobedience and be imprisoned.

Or both. I think the big radicals do both.

Lol living in the US means 99% you're living on land that was genocided from under the natives. It's just funny to worry about 'harm reduction' wrt one more wedding or girl school being bombed

Lol living in the US means 99% you're living on land that was genocided from under the natives.

Kind of my point? Like any western nation it's all built on imperialism to one degree or another.

It's just funny to worry about 'harm reduction' wrt one more wedding or girl school being bombed

The alternative option being?

This is not a complete list, we do all sorts of shit in Africa.

His base. He has to have them distracted and killing brown/black people to keep them off of the Epstein files, cause he knows they're more than willing to burn down the capital and hang him.

Like the movie "Wag the dog" Like clinton bombing Yugoslavia to distract from Monica Lewinsky.

President of peace over here

/s But Obama only did the minimal number of bombings that was absolutely necessary. Please let me imagine there are some good guys we call the 'Democratic Party'

Team America The World Police.

Americans seem to forget the problems with America, and the problems that the rest of the world has had with America, didn't start with Trump. America has always been a problem. Trump just turned it into a parody of itself.

Guy is a score-chaser. I wouldn't be surprised if we got rid of unmanned drones so that he could get the high score for most casualties of war.

When did Trump or Biden attack the country of Iraq? Iraq is a US strategic partner and the US basically pays for their entire military. Even claiming Obama attacked the nation of Iraq is a big overreach, imo.

4/10 everyone agreed needed to get spanked. But if you keep needing to hit someone to try and change their behavior, maybe the hitting isn't working?

How many of these were for Israel?

They are brown that’s enough for him to be afraid.
