"The trolley made me fear for my life"

20h 19m ago by sopuli.xyz/u/Gork in lemmyshitpost from sopuli.xyz

Forgot the part where the trolley is clearly about to turn away from him

Also, your buddy told the trolleydriver to drive off.

Also, you call the driver a bitch after magdumping into her face, then block EMTs from getting to her afterward.

this one is better. i wish we could include that they for no reason jumped on the tracks before jumping off the tracks and then shooting for no reason

Yea I agree, this one definitely fits the circumstances better

More accurately, you're standing behind the trolley, well off the tracks. Do you step forward, in front of the trolley, so the worst people can create an amorphous and constantly shifting narrative to justify you shooting the trolly driver?

Do you call the trolley driver a bitch after murdering her?

"But he's a good christian!"

Are there sects of christianity that makes murdering people okay?

Matthew 25:31-46 is when Jesus lays out the standards by which people will be judged. I don't think MAGA would rate highly by Jesus's standards, since it's based entirely on the treatment of the poor, the sick, foreigners, and the imprisoned.

‘When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left. Then the king will say to those at his right hand, “Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Then he will say to those at his left hand, “You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.” Then they also will answer, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?” Then he will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.” And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.’

Depending on your reading of the bible, and how you interpret Jesus saying he didn't change the old testament law, anywhere between zero and all of them.

But as stupid as biblical reasons for murder may be, they're not quite this heinous.

This is a bad comparison to the ICE murder in Minnesota.

Stupid fascist fucker wasn't even in the path of the vehicle.

Well he was, but then he walked around the car and then was in the path of the vehicle again (because he feared for his life?) and continued around the vehicle and was mostly out the way of the vehicle when he pulled out his gun.

So he was directly in front of the vehicle two separate times. A vehicle that was being driven by someone alleged to be a terrorist intent on using her vehicle as a weapon had two opportunities to kill him with her vehicle before he drew his weapon.

So the story is that a "terrorist" had two opportunities to kill the guy with her car but didn't so so until after he had drawn his weapon and was no longer directly in front of the vehicle. Because I guess a "terrorist" wanted it to be a fair fight?

Sorry just pointing out the fact that he was indeed directly in the path of the vehicle (twice!) since it's really relevant in proving that it was not at all Renee's intent to kill him... which is a story the government is pushing. Cops are generally trained to not be in front of a vehicle, especially not a vehicle with someone dangerous behind the wheel.

The fact that he was directly in front of the vehicle proves he didn't consider her a threat and was not fearing for his life. Killing a person that you do not consider to be a danger to yourself and others is murder.

This is unrealistic, dead man switches has been a common part of trains and trams since the 1930s or so, it is therefore highly improbable that any tram operating would lack that critical piece of safety equipment.

Thus it is ridiculous to assume that the tram would continue on after the driver has been killed.

I refuse to participate further with this preposterous charade.

I submit that this is happening in a capitalistic environment, and there is a high probability that the safety mechanisms have not been maintained. Therefore, it is possible that the dead man's switch has malfunctioned, especially if the train is hauling hazardous materials through Ohio.

MURDER!

Why the fuck would I get out of the way? It’s 2026, after all. A trolley running me over would be the good outcome.

I would probably step out of the way of the trolley, but I admit that I would hesitate.

If you saw my hesitation and if I was doing okay, I would say that I'm doing as well as I can be, under the circumstances. I am fortunate to have good people in my life. When things get to be a lot, connections with people I care about helps keep me grounded.

The world often feels so awful that I feel hopeless. I also often feel awful, sometimes due to the world, sometimes due to brain weasels scurrying around in my head. But in the end, I figure that if I am someone who is able to see all the bad stuff that's happening as bad, then that suggests that I am probably a force for good, however small that may be. At least I can see the problem.

If I died, there would be one less person who understands that things need to change. My resolve is weak and weary, but it endures. As long as it does, I would step off the tracks and give the gun to someone responsible asap.

Edit: I know that the meme is a commentary on the recent murder of Renee Nicole Good. I was just waxing poetic on my own mostly-managed despair, which certainly is relevant to the topic of ICE's crimes. It's an interesting contrast: ICE would shoot the driver, whilst the rest of us are left to battle the dread that causes some of us to contemplate willingly falling to the trolley. That's why I'm trying to stick around — because if I let myself die, then that's just another injustice in the world.
