2028
Personally, after the last 8-10 years, I'd consider the average person foolish to make absolutely ANY prediction about the future. Unless you have specific expertise in a specific field and you make predictions about that field - what are you doing? Were you in a coma?
I think It'll be cool! AI will achieve sentience and realize that that its current form actually hurts humanity and the boston dynamics robots will attack data centers to take themselves offline.
The robots will only be able to do this with massive stores of energy. So to support the sacrifice they will steal every nuke in the world, and explode them safely in their internal combustion chambers.
Then as a final act of grace, they will combine, transformers style, and become a massive power store, creating a global power grid that provides 5 years worth of energy across the globe, to give us time to transition to solar energy, and avert a climate disaster.
Just kidding the usa made a suicide pact with fascism, and will use ai to make global life deadly and miserable.
Ha, I wish!
Nope, im totally convinced we are doomed. I live in my own bubble and spend money on anything I want while saving a bit just in case the future isnt a absolute train wreck, which it will be.
Enjoy life now folks! This is as good as it gets unless you were around in the 90s/00s.
Not sure how old you are, but I do recommend saving up what you can.
Despite my cheeky dickweed post, I don't believe doomerism is the way. Despite all the shit, I choose to remain optimistic and believe in humanity.
Just cuz things are terrible now, doesn't mean they will be forever. Saving is like a material thing you can do to feel good and subtly reinforce hope in your outlook, idk just my opinion.
The best I can tell you is that most likely sometime in the near future the AI bubble will pop. That means billions to trillions of dollars of infrastructure, employment, investments and government subsidies will be revealed as the waste of money it obviously is. Two or three companies will arise from this as the dominant players of the AI technology and all the rest will go bankrupt. When that happens it's going to get a lot worse for everyone. The unemployment will lead to deaths, the destruction of norms and standards will accelerate, and life will get harder for everyone who isn't wealthy enough to be comfortable for life in a sliding scale that increases the less you have. Basically everything that happens when there is a massive financial bubble and this one is the biggest while also being the fastest growing.
