As a Mexican, let him do it. Our government speaks proudly of sovereignty while the mafia rules vast swats of the territory with their complicity. A country can’t be sovereign if citizens are ruled by criminals instead of the law.
Seriously, in 2025 about 300,000 people have gone missing, it’s your guess how many of them are buried in clandestine dumps. This has to stop somehow, and the mafia certainly fears Trump more than any Mexican president ever.
It's going to be like when the US was assassinating random Venezuelan fishermen. They're going to kill maybe one or two drug dealers, but mostly they'll just kill randomly across Mexico and then lie afterwards to claim they were cartels.
They don't care about killing actual cartel members, they just love to kill.
You think Trump gives two fucks about that? You think he cares about all those people? You think he wouldn't happily have murdered them as well? Don't be naive here.
Did I say that? I said he should actually follow through and fight the cartels and the colluded government, for his own selfish reasons. I think any great disruption of the deeply corrupt unholy marriage of government and mafia would be a net gain for us Mexicans.
Problem is America kills indiscriminately. Mexico will certainly be worse off during an invasion.

Why would I want nazis to be my friends? I just want them to murder some mafia heads. Any disruption to the status quo would be a gain for us, seeing how efficient their operation had become. You can’t even buy lemons or avocado without financing the cartels.
The thing with Trump is that he has no reason to want to kill the heads of organised crime. He benefits from cartel violence because it helps him to rhetorically justify US imperialism, so he has no reason to eradicate them.
If the US invades Mexico, the cartels will scatter like cockroaches to take shelter from the action, and then in the aftermath, they will leverage their efficient organisational infrastructure to cement their power even further. If the US invades Mexico, there is no way that this ends well for the Mexican people.
To Trump and his ilk, you look the same as any cartel member — except you're a lot easier to kill.
