Why is it stressful to call into a show?
1d 15h ago by sh.itjust.works/u/solidheron in asklemmy@lemmy.mlI tried to call into the majority report two days ago, and I just get some serious stage fright, didn't help that a national news story broke. I was stressing waiting for que to call in, calling in and getting voicemail, then getting put on hold. Like it was weird that I was high strung to the point where it was hard to form words.
I might try again after things calm down I'm America
Speaker phone might help, but I know what you mean from back in the day. Having to be 'on' when they need you to is naturally stressful.
Btw-- it's "queue," sounds like "cue." "Que" is a Latin and Romance-language word.
Hey buddy how's your chili doing
Uh... are you thinking of FauxPseudo, perhaps?
Nope, I tagged you: https://piefed.social/comment/9519027
Oh, well shizzle my whizzle!
At the time, my dear @spacenoodle@lemmy.world-- I'll LET YOU KNOW when I need your help, again, mate.
Got me..?
Hey, you said you hoped you'd run into me.
Alright fine, lol...
Okay, okay, I guess I got one for you--
It's about aluminum shavings, i.e. how combustible are they, anyway!?
Please do not eat aluminum shavings.
No problem; I'll just go for thermite!
I get the same thing just calling in to my favorite podcast to leave a voicemail. Which is especially odd since they are somewhat successful, not not enough that something like leaving a VM should make me nervous at all.
I've called in before and got on. And then my brain stopped working. Hah
So it's not just you.
Lol what are word what does "caller" mean
Public performance in general can be stressful; people get stage fright all the time.
Por que?
Yeah messed me up that queue, que, and cue sound the same in English. Que was close enough to cue anyway
In English, que isn't a word. It's a misspelling of queue
¿Que?
