Star Tribune identifies ICE agent who fatally shot woman in Minneapolis
2d 3h ago by lemmy.ca/u/slothrop in news from www.startribune.comJonathan Ross was dragged in a separate incident last year by a fleeing driver, according to court records.
Jonathan Ross murdered Renee Nicole Good. Spread the word.
I've been hoping this info would come out. I posted in another thread about how he should live the rest of his life being hated and shunned by everyone around him.
You know, since the Fourth Reich likely won't prosecute him.
There is no statute of limitations on murder.
The feds will protect him, but that's only guaranteed for as long as the current regime is in power. Even if the next administration (or the one after that, or the one after that, etc) isn't inclined to make a federal case out of it, they could easily decide to just not obstruct justice and cooperate, handing everything over to the state.
“That very ICE officer nearly had his life ended … six months ago,” Vance said, referring to a car-dragging incident with the agent.
“You think maybe he’s a little bit sensitive about somebody ramming him?”
Then maybe he shouldn't be back out in the fucking field yet.
That very ICE officer nearly had his life ended … six months ago
Too bad it was nearly, or Renee would probably be alive.
Maybe hes too incompetent to be i the field, considering hes put himself in harms way twice now in the same way.
Then maybe he shouldn't be back out in the fucking field yet.
Not to mention maybe don’t approach the front of a vehicle that was already in the process of trying to move before you stood in front of it?
How else do you get to shoot people?
Step 1: find moving car
Step 2: Jump in front or back of it depending on its direction.
Step 3: shoot when they don't stop.
Step 4: my life was in danger I had to shoot them!
It wasn’t just shooting. He calmly reached into the open window, put his gun up to her head, and murdered her. Then just as calmly walked away. The scariest part was just how matter of fact he was about murder for no justifiable reason
Sounds to me like she was understandably following all of that safety advice of "What to do when a masked lunatic tries to carjack you at gunpoint" and get the heck out of there.
What if she did comply? Would she get pulled out and beaten, harassed for hours, and eventually released? Or instead suddenly find herself on a cargo plane to a blacksite death camp in friggin Djibouti? It's insane that we can't know. No friggin' WONDER she took her chances with fleeing!
If that's okay then maybe people should start stepping out in front of ICE vehicles with a gun and do "self defense."
Brilliant.
Lethal force is not justified by being a little bitch.
He just did what they wanted him to do. This was all planned.
Agreed. Though I would add, HE really wanted to do it himself, of his own sociopathy and deep insecurities, or he would have taken the much easier route and ignored them, letting someone else have the shot. He had to break inertia to unholster his gun.
You're right, his superiors all the way up the chain absolutely wanted him to do it: they are desperate to the point of insane about avoiding midterms now.
But make no mistake. HE really wanted to do it, and do it under the cover of law. HE wanted to shoot an unarmed person who presented no threat and to know he got away with it, plus get whatever bonus people get for doing their dirty work.
The objective is fear and intimidation. They demonstrate their power by lying about it.
Maybe the first instance was his fault too and he should have been fired not sent back out for duty
“You think maybe he’s a little bit sensitive about somebody ramming him?”
Fuck his feelings.
source: all of his supporters.
Awwww was baby feeling sensitive?
Pretty rich coming from these "warrior" tough guy assholes
Where I come from, we call that a motive, not an excuse.
He walked around the vehicle and positioned himself to simultaneously be in “danger” of getting hit as well as being able to get out of the way and kill the driver.
Apparently the agent videoed it as well and you can see that as she’s moving the car back and then forward, her focus was on the guy trying to open the car door until the last second. There was zero intent to run over the agent.
You would have thought it would teach him not to use his own body to try to stop someone in a car driving away.
It’s how he can get justification for his itchy trigger finger though.
Nah, the fourth bullet was exactly enough to redirect the car safely around him. Physics 101. A measured response
I bet he's been replaying the events over and over in his head, telling himself how he would do different next time by shooting the person in the face.
Then he had the opportunity to put himself in that exact position again, and guess what he did.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if this was premeditated in that way.
Does the report say that he didn't try to murder the first person as well?
Vance that says that the agent is sensitive about being rammed, like it would justify any bit of this. "Of course the rabid dog bit them to death, it's rabid!"
He shouldn't be on the job if he's mentally incapable of telling if someone is fleeing or being aggressive.
This isn't a job it's a criminal organization.
I'm sensitive about feeling threatened by federal agents, does that mean I can shoot them?
When you flee, don't turn the wheels away from the agent. It could save your life
Sorry, you're in the group that the law binds but does not protect.
Okay but what if I'm wearing skinnyjeans and a mask and a plate carrier with a punisher-emblem tho, and I repeatedly told them "DON'T YOU FKING THREATEN ME" and they do something like touch their pocket? Then I can murder stand my ground right?
Well, that depends...did you vote for a pedophile recently?
Panic defense!
Blue panic defense? Pig panic defense? We can workshop this a bit.
I like pig panic defense, personally!
Well I'm certainly not going to stop you.
There’s protocol for how we handle rabid animals 🤔
Fortunately a guillotine works nicely for rabies testing protocol.
Gotta get that head.
So he’s a fucking dumbass who doesn’t know not to be near a moving vehicle. There’s a reason cops stay like an arms length away during a traffic stop and ask you to turn off the car.
IF the report of the last incident is to be believed (I don’t):
- He escalated the earlier incident by breaking the dudes window and reaching in.
- He either got caught on the glass he himself broke, or he kept holding on as the car started moving.
- He knows how to not use lethal force (he tased the last victim)
If he’s “sensitive” about getting dragged he shouldn’t be out in the field. Nor should he be approaching vehicles.
Obligatory fuck JD Vance.
I hear your "fuck JD Vance" and would add "may Trump get nut cancer"
Nut cancer is too good for him. Testicular torsion cancer would be more apt.
Those both would take far too long.
At this point of constant bizarre improbabilities, I kinda just hope he has some kinda sepsis backup and drowns in his own excrement coming out his face on live television in front of all his fans.
That works for me.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Thursday that the agent who killed Good was the same officer dragged by a suspect in Bloomington last June. Although Ross was not named in the 13-page indictment of the driver, he is identified in several court records filed in the case, including photo exhibits from the hospital. He is also listed by name as a witness.
Nice sleuthing.
A law enforcement source, who is not authorized to speak publicly, confirmed that Ross is the shooter.
LEO doing something useful!
So he has an established pattern of attacking drivers in this same manner. Sounds like premeditation to me.

So because he got 20 stitches after smashing in a car window attacking another driver he’s allowed to shoot people in the head.
Also, Couchfucker got to smear the shit on this story while announcing a new “special” AG office to investigate fraud . . . starting in Minnesota. Purely coincidentally.
When asked to respond to Tim Walz’s comments he said “I don’t care what [he] thinks”.
They're flexing every ill-gotten power they have to disappear this obvious murder, but I don't think this is going to go away.
Vance is just faking it until he makes it, like normal. Just embarrassing, like a child holding a cigarette stolen from his mom's purse to impress his friends.
Fuck Jonathan Ross. May he rot alive.
Not wossy!

I have no idea who that is. It kinda sucks he shares the name with a murderer.

Yeah, Dont care who this fucker is. Everyone knows who I'm talking about so fuck off.
Edit: I just wanna say I hope all of you who downvoted me for being upset they are trying to mix in some british talk show guy because he has the same name as the muderer of Reenee Good should block me. Because I think your horrible.

I would argue that the British TV personality is more broadly well known. Thdt might change with this guy's sudden notoriety.
The point is I don't care about him. I care about the POS who murdered that woman and left three kids without their mother. The point is this thread isn't about that guy and he can fuck right off along with anyone who thinks its cute to mix him in.
Reply don't reply I wont hear from you again troll.
Edit: I just wanna say I hope all of you who downvoted me for being upset they are trying to mix in some british talk show guy because he has the same name as the muderer of Reenee Good should block me. Because I think your horrible.
Um. Okay. He's left the building I guess, so this is for the rest of us:
It's just conversation. I'd like if the civilized remainder of this comment section could let me know if I'm coming across as a troll.
No, you're not, but the other commenter is coming across as blinded by their own self righteousness.
So, is the Star Tribune stating that since he was dragged along previously, he panicked and fired this time? Or that he reported a while back being dragged along, so that charge might be bullshit too?
Well, we don't know exactly, but the court documents state that he was dragged after smashing the driver's window, reaching in, and trying to open the door from the inside. The driver panicked (rightfully) and tried to drive away.
That driver seems to be an asshole (wanted for sexual assault). But putting your arm into an operational car with somebody behind the wheel who does not want to surrender sounds like the stupidest idea in the world.
It absolutely does, just like putting an agent who's still "sensitive' about vehicle stops on an operation where he's stopping vehicles.
Almost like the DHS and ICE are run by deeply unqualified people with none of the requisite training.
No, they’re reporting that’s how they found his name.
The DHS put it out there in the first place so they could say it’s okay he shot a civilian at point blank range.
I'd want to know specifics of the dragging story . There might be details relevant to the present.
They keep bringing it up so that incident gets conflated with this one when morons are talking about it.
Then this scum sucking, low life worm named Jonathan Ross should know the difference between being dragged and standing 2 to 3 feet away from a car by now. I hope he his is hounded ceaselessly to his grave and then ghosts take it from there for eternity.
Sadly, it's more likely he will make bank on a Go Fund Me grift to nazi Sympathizers.
Yup, Thiel has deep pockets to ensure these scum are taken care of. But if you are hounded wherever you go all the time life would suck at least.
OBVIOUSLY he Had the RIGHT to Murder a Mother because he had a History of being Dragged once! And OBVIOUSLY the Mother had NO RIGHT to even TRY to Resist ICE even though ICE has a History of Murdering People!
He is a supposed "law enforcement officer" he assumes a risk. That doesn't mean you get to shoot people.
I've seen justifiable shootings by police. This isn't it.
ICE protestors must start open carrying anywhere that's possible.
The whole "I feared for my safety" narrative is a problem because it's not actually true.
So make them actually fear for their safety.
I doubt they will act the same way as well when they actually fear for their safety. Check out Uvalde for reference.
I suspect you mean this, but you're being cryptic:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uvalde_school_shooting
Police officers did not breach the classroom, but cordoned off the school grounds, resulting in violent conflicts between police and civilians, including parents, who were attempting to enter the school to rescue children. As a consequence, law enforcement officials in Uvalde were criticized for their response
I don't think that's being cryptic. Far from being simply criticized, the one coward involved went on trial recently.
Now it's not cryptic. Until this message I still wasn't sure this is what you meant
Cops are so cowardly when they're scared that they left a school full of ten year olds to fend for themselves. It's utterly disgusting.
Just in time to distract with Border Patrol Shooting two in Portland.
Epstein files Impeach. Incarcerate. Guillotine the racists.

no no that's Jonathan Woss
Not to be confused with the British comedian and former host of Fool Us.
Is it so scary to say "killed"?
That's what "fatally" means? Not sure there's that much of a semantic gap between "fatally shot" and "killed" other than the former actually explains how it was done.
You're right. It should say "murdered".
Yeah, I'd agree that would be an improvement on the headline.
We say murder and it's understood as people talking about what happened. When a news outlet says murder it's considered reporting a legal conviction. There are good reasons why these conventions exist. And it's the same as why headlines weren't saying Luigi Mangionr murdered Brian Thompson.
Bet it said killed though.
You bet there were. There were many that also just said shot/shooting. Many non-US western outlets are using killed/killing in the headline. US outlets use a mixture of language even within the same outlet, or won't have it in the outline but will have it in the text. Here's a title from CBS https://youtu.be/HSKaceREFlQ
I'm not saying there isn't an overall bias towards distancing law enforcement from killings from words that carry negative connotations--there is. I was adding context to how "murder" is used in media and now I'm suggesting that some major outlets see what's going on and are calling it what it is directly within the bounds of good journalism.
Was she stabbed?
She was shot repeatedly in the face.
-
Have you been living under a rock for the last 24 hours?
-
What possible difference does the manner of her death make? A jackbooted fascist thug murdered her.
Then what’s wrong with saying “fatally shot”?
Passive voice
It's not passive voice. The ICE agent is identified as the subject.
Word salad to muddy the waters IMO.
Killed is the word. Not life ending weapon related accident.
Fatally shot implies the possibility that she was to blame.
That's not how I interpret it. I interpret it as not assigning blame either way, which is typical for a news organization.
Way better than how a lot of the mainstream would report this. They'd say something like "Officer involved in shooting exposed by hackers"
At least it wasn't "woman who died after an altercation with ICE".
I haven't seen his socials leaked yet. Or screen grabs, or other photos of them. Has anyone else?
There is this:
https://wiki.icelist.is/index.php?title=Ross%2C_Jonathan
There's photos here with some interviews and discussions of posts on socials:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15447739/ICE-shooter-Filipina-wife-father-Minneapolis.html
I see a downvote here: the victim's socials are pretty well leaked / commented on so it seems a bit asymmetrical.
What city does he live in? His neighbors ought to be aware.
Minneapolis
The Star Tribune has a merch shop they use to help fund their newsroom. I'm thinking of getting a t-shirt or sweater.
They are not actually worth admiration.
She was going over 5 miles an hour for a half a second!
That's like a nuclear missile, so of course he had to open fire on her face from two feet away.
Notice how directly he's being treated to the guy who killed Charlie Kirk or Luigi Mangione?
Arrest his ass. Perp walk. Holding Cell. Jury. Jury. And then prison for life.
Grabbing on to a moving vehicle can be hazardous. Just ask Frank and Jimmy Jump.
