I had an eyebrow shaved off once at a party and also was briefly missing that tooth, and someone sent this meme to me. I felt so personally attacked.
Priming biases the results. Top-down processing and all that.
Not to mention that a person missing one of their front teeth likely gets out of the habit of toothy grins.
This was literally a dentistry ad. Why has it been reframed as if it were a social media comment?
My first thought was to kind of recoil at the soulless smiling stares of the people, and then I noticed the tooth.
