Andres Serrano is a controversial American photographer whose work frequently examines highly questionable ethical and moral themes through highly formal portraiture.

In 2018, Serrano took what is widely regarded as the last known photographic portrait of Jeffrey Epstein, created shortly before Epstein’s 2019 arrest and death. Surrounded by controversy, the image later drew public attention for presenting Epstein in a composed and dignified manner, a treatment that contrasted sharply with his criminal record and public infamy. The portrait was produced as part of an exchange in which Epstein provided Serrano with a 16th-century Madonna and Child sculpture in return for the sitting.

Serrano is known for large-scale color photographs that confront social, religious, and political institutions while maintaining a restrained, studio-based visual structure. Since emerging in the late 1980s, his practice has been closely associated with debates around censorship, representation, and the role of art in addressing cultural taboos.

The lack of fill light appears to be the style of the photographer but it works so well on Epstein. A two faced man who's "dark side" is absolute.

I don't generally know fuck-all about photography, but it seems like being photographed by this artist might not generally be praise.
