This series presents farm animals in staged portraits modeled after formal human family photographs. Using studio lighting, animal handlers, and digital compositing, MacInnis produces both individual and group portraits of cows, pigs, sheep, goats, and poultry. In the single-animal images, the subjects are depicted in moments of stillness and attentiveness, often facing the camera directly.

The group portraits form the conceptual center of the series. By arranging multiple species into cohesive, posed compositions, MacInnis creates images that closely resemble traditional family photographs despite their carefully constructed nature. These scenes invite viewers to reconsider farm animals as members of a shared social unit rather than as interchangeable components of agricultural production.

Very cool.

The chunkiest Jack Russell Terrier I’ve ever seen

Must be part vacuum cleaner or beagle, which comes out to the same thing. Enormous.

I can't even pose people and this guy is doing farm animals, jesus
